Khaleda Sawyer is a stakeholder communications and community engagement specialist with more than twenty years’ experience supporting the delivery of major projects in the civil engineering and renewable energy sectors.

Since January 2023, Khal has been Flotation Energy’s Stakeholder Lead for the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm project, providing strategic communications advice to this Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project located in the east Irish Sea. The project has required two separate Development Consent Order (DCO) applications, each supported by comprehensive stakeholder engagement and detailed statutory and non-statutory consultations.

Prior to joining Flotation Energy, Khal was North West Communications Manager for National Highways, supporting delivery of more than 300 highway improvement and renewal schemes each year by developing and delivering community and stakeholder plans, pursuing partnership opportunities and producing high-quality content.

From 2011-2015, as a member of the stakeholder team at WSP Parsons Brinkerhoff, Khal supported Transport for Greater Manchester’s £1.5 billion Metrolink expansion programme, which trebled the size of the city region’s light rail network. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
